Following a day long manhunt, Clinton police nabbed a suspect that kept eluding police throughout the day.
35-year-old Jeffrey Hollister of Vilonia, Arkansas was captured around 4:15 Thursday afternoon.
Clinton Detective Ron McLemore says he’s not sure where Hollister had been hiding, but he’s now in the Custer County Jail awaiting a trip in front of a judge who’ll set bond in his case.
Police Chief David Crabtree says the search began Thursday morning about 6:30 near McClain Rogers Park following a police dispatch call that someone was trying to break into a vehicle. The owner called police and started the search for Hollister in motion.
He’s been arrested on complaints of unauthorized use of a vehicle, burglary in the 2nd degree, threatening to perform an act of violence and malicious injury to property.
It was earlier thought he might have been carrying a weapon, but was not arrested with one though there was a small handgun recovered inside the vehicle, a Nissan car, that Hollister is thought to have been driving. The car was reported stolen from Conway, Arkansas.
