A sexual battery case winding it’s way through the court system is impacting the Custer County Sheriff, Undersheriff and others.
Sheriff Kenneth Tidwell and Undersheriff Sean Staggs along with Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation special agent Trevor Ridgeway have been subpoenaed to testify. They’ll be appearing on behalf of the state. The man charged is a former Custer County detention officer.
According to the Weatherford Daily News, subpoenas were issued last week to the three law enforcers in the felony case against 25-year-old Darrion Morgan of Clinton. He’s charged with three counts of sexual battery while working at the jail.
Morgan was arrested in late March after an investigation led by the OSBI determined there was probable cause to warrant his arrest. Morgan was, reportedly, sent to the Roger Mills County Jail following the incident, but has since bonded out.
Days following the alleged incidents March 17 through 20 of this year, Sheriff Tidwell requested the OSBI to handle the investigation. OSBI reportedly interviewed the female inmates whom against Morgan allegedly committed sexual battery while on duty in the Custer County Jail.
According to online court records, Morgan’s bond was reduced in May to $25-thousand dollars. He’s due in Custer County District Court next week on Thursday, September 7.
