A Clinton man is out of jail after posting a $75-thousand dollar bond last week for an assault and battery charge.
20-year-old Brandon Neal Henry was charged with domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor, second and subsequent. His wife, the victim, has also filed a protective order against her husband the day following the incident that allegedly occurred on February 9 in their home in the 1800 block of Wells in Clinton.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Henry allegedly grabbed his wife by the throat and pushed her up against a wall. He then hit her about 10-times with a balled up fist on the right side of her chin, her right eye and the right side of her forehead. The document says additionally retrieved a baseball bat and swung it at her but didn’t hit her. She told police that the couple’s 11-month old son was present at the time of the alleged incident.
Henry, who has a prior conviction of domestic assault and battery, bonded out of jail last Tuesday and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing conference on April 1.
