Three people from Beckham County have been arrested on drug charges after Elk City Police pulled them over on a city street early one morning recently.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the two men and a woman were pulled over on February 15 at 3:25 am after a patrolman observed their green Ford Taurus drifting back and forth in its lane near 2nd and Boone.  The document says the car continued down the road about three quarters of a city block after the officer initiated his emergency lights.

He wrote in the affidavit that as soon as the vehicle stopped, the driver popped into the back seat and the male in the back seat hopped up into the driver’s seat.

After the three were separated and questioned, the former driver, 22-year-old Jordon Wade Perry of Sayre allegedly told police the reason he hopped into the back seat was because he had a warrant out of Beckham County and had no driver’s license.

Though the officer wrote that he could smell the odor of raw marijuana, the female, 20-year-old Donnell Michelle Rene Mullins, also of Sayre, immediately stated there wasn’t any weed in the vehicle when asked where it was located.

During a search of the Taurus, a green, leafy substance that tested positive for THC was allegedly found between the front passenger seat and the passenger door. A pink, speaker case allegedly containing a spoon with a white, crystal substance was found in the front passenger floor board.  It tested positive for Methamphetamine.

The affidavit says a number of other drug items that tested positive for both THC and meth were allegedly found in various places inside the vehicle.

Mullins told the officer she didn’t know anything about the meth while Perry and the other man, 21-year-old Joshua Carl Stanfield of Dill City denied any knowledge of the drugs in the car.

Before being taken to jail, each stated they didn’t have any contraband on them, however, Stanfield was allegedly found to have a small portion of a marijuana cigarette in a box of cigarette wrapping papers in his wallet.

They’ve all been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled, dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia. Stanfield was additionally charged with bringing contraband into a jail.

Mullins was released on $10-thousand dollars bond and Perry was released on $20-thousand dollars bond.

Stanfield remains in jail on a $25-thousand dollar bond.

All three have court dates within the next six weeks.
