One person is dead and three others are in different hospitals as a result of separate accidents. All are from Western Oklahoma and one remains in critical condition in an Oklahoma City hospital.

31-year-old Suzana Chavez Camacho of Seiling died late Sunday afternoon when a pickup went left of center and struck her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, head-on on an area highway. A 12-year-old passenger in her vehicle, reported to be her daughter, is in stable condition with head and internal injuries at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, according to the Clinton Daily News.

Camacho died at the Seiling Hospitalof massive injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, 30-year-old Jonathan James Hoover of Okeene, was also admitted to Seiling Hospital in stable condition. A passenger in Hoover’s 2013 Chevrolet pickup, his 4-year-old boy, was treated for a minor head injury and released.

The accident happened about 6:40 pm, on US Highway 270 about a half mile southeast of the State Highway 51 junction.

According to the OHP, Hoover’s pickup was driving northwest toward Seiling while Camacho was headed southeast. Hoover, reportedly, failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle went left of center, striking the Chevy Cruze.

The accident has been under investigation.

All were wearing seatbelts.

A 39-year-old Sayre man is in critical condition in OU Medical Center following an accident on Friday night near the Flying J in Sayre.

According to the Sayre Police, Michael Fannin was northbound on Highway 283 riding a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a 2002 Peterbilt semi driven by 44-year-old Wesley Woodin, also of Sayre was pulling onto Highway 283 from the I-40 off ramp.

The police report states that, to avoid hitting the semi, Fannin laid his motorcycle over causing the cycle to slide along the pavement. Fannin was thrown about 78 feet, but the vehicles never made contact.

Fannin was complaining of arm and chest pains and was air transported to Oklahoma City.

Fannin was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
